Gloster Meteor Remains on Bennachie
In Autumn of 99 Dog Breath and myself went for a search round the hill of Bennachie near Aberdeen to see if any debris remained of a Meteor which crashed in bad weather in 1952. Sadly the single occupant of the plane was killed. Unfortunately I could find little of the plane remaining, I believe much of it was cleared by the Forestry Commission.
My foot resting on a piece of debris, unmistakably a fragment of the ill fated Meteor. Dogbreath sits beside a cairn embedded with small parts of the aircraft. Dogbreath poses beside the largest piece of debris still remaining on the hill.
