Airspeed Oxford on Meluncart
This was the third wreck of the day for us and I guess the least impressive but hey they can't all be brilliant! Had our lunch at a nearby bothy before climbing Meluncart and bizarrely enough met an old bloke there who was responsible for collecting up all the remaining parts of this Oxford and putting them in the gulley many years ago. Well at least we knew there was still some of the wreck left before we ascended the hill. This Oxford crashed on the 3rd of September 1942 but don't know much else about it.
Flash comes across the first scrap of debris indicating we're in the right area.
Myself at the main wreckage location. Flash beside the wreckage strewn gulley. A close up of some of the debris still present at the site.
